Cathedra since 15.04.1997 Archbishop of Kamyanets-Podilskyi and Gorodok Feodor was born on February 17, 1958 in the village of Nemovychi, the district of Sarny in the Rivne region, in a farmer's family. In 1975 he graduted from secondary school and entered the Rivne Water Resource Institute. Throughout 1977- 1978 he worked in the gas discharge lamp plant in Rivne.
From 1978 till 1984 he studied at the Moscow Theological Seminary. He served in the Soviet Army. In 1987 he graduated from the Moscow Theological Academy with the Candidate of Theology Degree. His research paper was entitled "The pastoral Work of the Venerable Ambrose of Optina". The same time he was sent to the Holy Dormition Pochayiv Lavra.
On December 24, 1987 he was tonsured monk with the name Feodor after the Venerable Theodore, prince of Ostrog.
On January 10, 1988 he was ordained hierodeacon, and on October 7, 1990 - hieromonk. Autumn of the same year he was moved to the Holy Spirit Skete of the Pochayiv Lavra and appointed Dean of the abode. In May 1991 he returned to Lavra and was appointed teacher of the Pochayiv Theological School.
July 5, 1992 he was elevated to the rank of hegumen and appointed Deputy Abbot of the Holy Dormition Lavra of Pochayiv, and on August 1 of the same year he was elevated to the rank of archimandrite. On August 5, 1992 Archimandrite Feodor was consecrated Bishop of Pochayiv, Vicar of the Ternopil Diocese. On December 8 of the same year he was appointed Rector of the Pochayiv Theological Seminary.
On July 27, 1996 he was dismissed from the office of Deputy Abbot of the Pochayiv Lavra keeping the post of Rector of the Theological Seminary. The monastery was granted the status of Stauropegial Monastery.
Since April 1, 1997 - Bishop of Kamyanets-Podilskyi and Gorodok.
On July 28, 2006, the name day of His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr, at the divine liturgy in the Holy Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra he was elevated to the rank of Archbishop.
Activity at the Diocesan See
In his activity Archbishop of Kamyanets-Podilskyi and Gorodok Feodor concentrates his efforts at creating the conditions meeting the spiritual needs of the believers, strengthening of the positions of the Orthodoxy, which holds a prominent place in the history of Podillya, in its spiritual and cultural formation and development. For almost 10 years of Vladyka's tenure of the Kamyanets-Podilskyi Diocesan See more than 70 churches and chapels have been restored and constructed; the issue of the diocesan newspaper "Dzvin"(Chime) and of several parish church newspapers has been set; the informational bulletin "Sources of Upbringing" is being published in print; the Orthodox Youth Fellowship in the name of the Venerable Prince Theodore of Ostrog has been organised, an embroidery workshop is functioning.
An icon-painting school has been opened at the Holy and Right-believing Prince Alexander Nevsky Church. In many parishes there are Sunday schools and church libraries. In 2004 in Gorodok of the Khmelnytskyi region the spiritual educational centre was opened at the city main Cathedral. There was also the Parental Committee for Child Welfare registered at the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. In 2005 Archbishop Feodor brought a copy of the Iveron Icon of Theotokos from the Holy Mount Athos, painted specially for the diocese by the monks of the holy mount.
The tradition of singing the akathist to the Holy Theotokos in honour of Her Wonderworking Image of Pochayiv by all the community of believers has been observed, being initiated and introduced by Vladyka.
Due to the efforts of the ruling bishop the process of construction of the Cathedral in the name of the Holy and Right-believing Prince Alexander Nevsky is under way in Kamyanets-Podilskyi (it was destroyed in 1937). The Holy Trinity Convent was registered in Sataniv, its construction is under way. Every year a great amount of repair and construction works is executed.
On the annual basis Vladyka attends about 60 churches of the diocese. Throughout his tenure of the Kamyanets-Podilskyi Diocesan See Archbishop Feodor performed more than 40 deacon and priest ordinations. Today there are the parishes in all the cities and districts of the region, taking active part with the archpastor at the head in celebrations of the memorable dates of the Ukrainian and regional history. Together with educational and spiritual-educational institutions and the military units the patriotic and moral educational work is being carried out, especially with young people. On January 10, 2007 the conference "Church, Family and School Solving Problems of Youth Upbringing" was held.
