Bishop Tikhon of Kremenchuk and Lubny (in the world Zhyliakov Mykola Viktorovych) was born on July 9, 1968 in Kommunarsk, Voroshylovohrad region (now Alchevsk, Luhansk region) in the workers' family.

In 1985 he graduated from secondary school №9 of Komunarsk.

In 1990 he graduated from the Komunarsk Institute of Mining and Smelting (now the Donbas State Technical University).

From 1990 till 1992 he did his postgraduate studies of the Komunarsk Institute of Mining and Smelting, also doing his studies at the reserve-officer training department to the Komunarsk Institute of Mining and Smelting, being elevated to the rank of lieutenant of the Soviet Army in 1989.  

From June 1992 he bore obedience of the sacristan at the Cathedral of St. Michael, the town of Alchevsk.    

In 1992 he was consecrated to the Holy Diaconate by Bishop Ioanniky as he then was (now Metropolitan of Luhansk and Alchevsk).

On May 13, 1993 he was tonsured a monk with the name Tikhon in honor of the Holy Hierarch Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow (name day - October 9).

On May 22, 1993 he was ordained to the holy priesthood. 
In 1998 he graduated from the Kyiv Theological Seminary. Now he is a student of the Uzhgorod Ukrainian Theological Academy.   

Till 2006 he had performed his priest ministry at the Church of St. Nicholas and the Church of the Holy Protection in Alchevsk. 

In 2006 he was assigned the staff priest to the Church of the Pochayiv Icon of the Mother of God in Rubizhne.    

In Alchevsk in  2002 at the blessing of Metropolitan Ioannikiy he took part in the establishment of the  charitable organization "Sisterhood of mercy in the name of the Holy Venerable Martyr Princess Elizabeth" and in the opening of the chapel at the city oncology dispensary. The sisterhood successfully works up to now.  

At the assistance of the TV-Radio-Company of Alchevsk "Piramide" fro a few years he had been the host of the weekly educational program "Dzherelo" (The Spring).  

In Rubizhne town he took part in the construction and arrangement of two churches  (the Church of the Pochayiv Icon of the Mother of God and St Seraphim Church) and three chapels (St. Nicholas Chapel at the Chief Directorate of Internal Affairs, St Seraphim's Chapel in the village of Stara Krasnyanka and the one of the Icon of the Mother of God "Inexhaustible Chalice"  in the neighborhood unit "Pivdennaya" of Rubizhne).   

Since 2006 he has taken part in teaching the Christian Ethics for senior high school students of Rubizhne.   

In 2008 at the blessing of Bishop Agapit of Severodonetsk and Starobilsk he took part in giving lectures for the students of the theological pedagogical courses at the Kyiv Theological Schools and the Kharkiv Theological Seminary.    

From 2008 - a co-worker of the Department of Religious Education and Cathechization of the Diocese of Severodonetsk.   

On January, 11, 2009 he was elevated to the rank of archimandrite.

At the decision of the Holy Synod of the UOC of November, 24, 2009 (Journal №74) he was appointed Bishop of Kremenchuk and Lubny.

On November 28, 2009 the rite of nomination was performed, and November 29, 2009 - he was consecrated bishop at the Refectory Church of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
