KYIV REGION. Vicar of the Kyiv Metropolis Consecrated Church of the Holy Martyress Irene

On January 31 in the village of Berezivka, Makariv district of the Kyiv region the Church of the Holy Martyress Irene was consecrated.

At the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr the consecration rite was performed by Vicar Bishop of the Kyiv Metropolis Bishop Panteleimon of Vasylkiv.   

25 orthodox churches are now active in Makariv district. In Berezovka there have been no church by the present. The idea to set up a temple of God here belongs to the church ktetor Andriy Zadorozhnyy.   On the consecration day he was marked by the high ecclesiastic award - the order of the Holy Hierarch Dimitry (Tuptalo) of Rostov.

For the construction of the church in the style of Ukrainian baroque the craftsmen from Sebastopol were invited, and the wall paintings were done by the iconographers from Lviv.

The orthodox community in Berezivtsi was organized a year ago. And now the believers will pray at their own church.   

Following the consecration rite the parishioners together with the clergymen took pictures in remembrance of the holiday of church opening in their native village.
