KYIV. Session of the Commission for Canonization of Saints to the Holy Synod of the UOC Held
On March 2 at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra the session of the commission for Canonization of the Saints to the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The session was presided over by Archbishop
Ioann of Kherson
and Tavriysk.
The Commission representatives listened to the report of His Grace Seraphim,
Vicar of the Kyiv Metropolis, Bishop of Yahotyn on the possibility of
glorification among the ranks of the locally venerated saints of the Diocese of
Kyiv hegumen Bonifatius (Vynohradskyy)
(+27.12.1871. old style), and the report of His Grace Philipp, Archbishop of
Poltava and Myrhorod on the possibility of glorification among the ranks of the
locally venerated saints of the Diocese of Poltava Archbishop Athanasius (Volkhovskyy)
(+01.01.1801. old style).
The Commission approved of the following: to send reports to His Beatitude
Metropolitan Volodymyr concerning the possibility of glorification among the
saints of the God-pleasers mentioned.
