UKRAINE-ITALY. His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr Took Part in Opening of Exhibition “Golden Age of the Ukrainian Icon of the XVI-XVIII centuries” ”
OnMarch 2, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church left for Italy. His Beatitude Metropolitan
Volodymyr was accompanied by deputy Chairman of the Department for External
Church Relations of the UOC Bishop Alexander of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyy. In the city of Ancona,
situated above the Adriatic Sea, the
exhibition "Golden Age of the Ukrainian Icon of the XVI-XVIII centuries" will
be held between March 2 till May 9. The event will take place at the exhibition
hall "Mole Vanvitellianna".
The exhibition
overseers are Serhiy Krolevets (director general of the Kyiv Caves Historical
Reserve), Giovanno Morello (president of the Art Foundation), who is on the Pontifical
Commission for the Cultural Heritage, and the Ukraian Embassy to Vatican.
The exhibition was opened on March 2. The reporters were: Edoardo Manichelli (Archbishop of Ancona-Ozimo), Tetyana Izhevska (Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Vatican), representatives of the local authorities and
the exhibition overseers Serhiy Krolevets and Giovanni Morello.
The
exhibition «Golden Age of the Ukrainian Icon of the XVI-XVIII centuries» can be attended
between March 3 till May 9 at the exhibition center "Mole
Vanvitellianna". Every day except Monday. Free admission.
According to the Embassy of Ukraine to the Apostolic capital 65 art exhibits, objects
of liturgical culture and church vestments are presented at the exhibition.
