KYIV. His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr Blessed a Group of Kyiv Orphans

On March 11, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church at his residence at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra received a group of children-orphans from the orphanage "Nadiya" (village Mokrets, Brovary district of the Kyiv region), to whom he gave his archpastoral blessing and addressed with words of instruction.

"May God help you that you comprehended the spiritual bases you are being taught, that you grew healthy, beautiful and useful for all our Ukraine", he said in particular.

At the end, Metropolitan Volodymyr blessed the children with small icons and handed them keepsake presents.

This action is being held in the framework of the spiritual patriotic studies held for the orphans of the Kyiv orphanage homes by the Synodal Department of the UOC for Pastoral Care of the Penitentiary System together with the Department of the Criminal Juvenile Militia.

The aim of the event - upbringing of children in law-abiding spirit, homage of the historical heritage and exposure to the orthodox tradition.

In the course of their visit to Lavra the children also got acquainted with the monastery shrines, following which they were going to visit one of the military units of the region.
