February 7, 2008 Metropolitan Hieronymos of Thebes and Levadeia was elected the 20th Primate of the Greek Orthodox
Church. Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine greeted His Beatitude on his
election. Following is the full text of the greeting:

The Most Blessed Hieronymos,
Elected Archbishop of Athens and All Greece
Your Beatitude!
On the part of the Holy Synod and All Fullness of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church I congratulate You on Your election to the Primatial office of the brotherly Orthodox Church of Greece.
In Your person the most Holy Church of Greece acquired an experienced hierarch, capable of leading the faithful the way of Christ's love, peace and brotherly love.
I believe that in time of Your Primatial ministry warm and friendly
relations between the Greek and Ukrainian Churches will persist.
From All my heart I wish You God's assistance at the new stage of
service to the Church of Christ, spiritual and bodily strength, joy in God for
many blissful years.

Μακαριώτατε!
Εκ
μέρους της Ιεράς Συνόδου και πληρώματος της Ορθοδόξου Εκκλησίας της Ουκρανίας
Σας συγχαίρω διά την εκλογή ως Προθιεράρχου της Ορθόδοξης Εκκλησίας της
Ελλάδος.
Στον
πρόσωπο Σας η Αγιώτατη Εκκλησία της Ελλάδος έχει αποκτήσει τον έμπειρο ιεράρχη,
που είναι σε θέση να άγει τους πιστούς της με τον δρόμο της αγάπης του Χριστού,
της ειρήνης και φιλαδελφίας. Ελπίζω, ότι και κατά την Αρχιποιμαντορική διακονία
Σας θα διατηρηθούν θερμές και φιλικές σχέσεις μεταξύ της Ελλαδικής και
Ουκρανικής Εκκλησίας.

όλης της καρδιάς μου Σας εύχομαι την βοήθειαν του Θεού στο καινούριο στάδιο την
διακονίας της Εκκλησίας του Χριστού, την στερέωσην των πνευματικών και
