shed. All that is history
testifying of mercy and
goodness of God. May this church stand indestructible and remind our cold souls of the mercy of God to
humanity, without which there is no truth and verity in the world. May the Most Holy Theotokos, who has covered
this church with her veil for so many years, remain the Intercessor and Cover
of the history, present and future."
The
Volyn residents were also greeted by the First Hierarch of the Russian Church
Abroad.
"Accept

anniversary of the cathedral foundation. I prayerfully wish you that the

said.
Besides,
Metropolitan Hilarion gifted the icon of the Holy Royal Martyrs as a memory of
his visit to Volyn.

To the point. The Cathedral of Dormition of the Mother of God was
built by Prince Mstislav Iziasloavovych in 1156-1160. He was buried in this
very cathedral. This is the only church in the territory of Volyn
which has remained till nowadays since the times of the ancient Rus.
