KYIV. UOC Primate participated in opening of the all-Ukraine information cultural presentation “Ukrainian Historical Culture Reserve – 2010”
On May 18, the International Museum Day, the All-Ukraine
cultural-information presentation "Ukrainian Historical-Cultural Reserve-2010"
was opened at the National Kyiv Pechersk Historical Cultural Reserve (Kyiv, Ivana
Mazepy str., 21) in which all the prominent national
reserves take part.
The
action is conducted with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr
of Kyiv and All Ukraine and will continue May 18 through 21.
Opening
the event, His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr greeted the museum workers on
their professional holiday and wished inspiration in their service to the
people of Ukraine.
Thereafter
Mykhailo Kulinyak, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine greeted those
present, read out the greeting addresses by the President of Ukraine,
Prime-Minister of Ukraine
and the head of the Supreme Council (Verkhovna Rada) of Ukraine, and
delivered distinctions of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and gratitude
certificates of the Ukrainian Prime-Minister to museum workers.
Attending
the arrangement also were deputy abbot of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk
Lavra Archbishop Pavel of Vyshhorod, Rector of the Kyiv Theological Academy and
Seminary Archbishop Anthony of Boryspil, Secretary for the UOC Primate Bishop
Alexander of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyy, chair of the Synodal Department of the
UOC "Mission Church and Culture" hegumeness Seraphima Shevchyk.
Upon completion of the official part the Archpastor
got acquainted with presentations by the participants of the festival and
looked over the expositions of the exhibition halls of the Kyiv-Pechersk
Reserve.
