NEW-YORK. Chair of the Synodal UOC Department “Mission Church and Culture” Hegumeness Seraphima Shevchyk took part in the meeting with Ukrainian diaspora in the USA


 

On June 18 the Ukrainian delegation led by the Minister of Culture and Tourism  of Ukraine Mykhailo Kulyniak and consisting of Marina Hromova, director general of the National Kyiv-Pechersk Historical Cultural Reserve, hegumeness Seraphima Shevchyk  - Chair of the Synodal Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Mission Church and Culture and other representatives in the framework of the  opening of the International exhibition "Glory of Ukraine: Holy Icons of the XI-XIX  century" attended the Ukrainian Museum in New-York and looked over the exhibition  "Ukraine-Sweden: on the crossroads of history (XVII-XVIII centuries)".

The exhibition organizers dedicated the exposition to the extremely interesting period of the Ukrainian-Sweden relations of the XVII-XVIII centuries, full of energy of the national state-creation. On the whole, presented at the exhibition were above 100 unique records, which belong to 27 institutions of Ukraine, Sweden and the USA.

Attending the Ukrainian Museum the delegation members had talks with representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora in the USA: Maria Shust, Anna Crille-Pisur, Larisa Rafael, Yuliya Zagoroda, Olga Olach, Olesya Ivanyshyn, Dariya Bayko, Mykola Haliv, Olga Hnateyko.   The meeting participants agreed to develop and strengthen friendly relations, activate cultural dialogue between the two countries and expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation.
