KYIV. His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr met with President of the Synod of the German Evangelic Lutheran Church of Ukraine Pastor Andrew Hamburg


 

On June 30 at the residence of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church a meeting was held of His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kyiv and All Ukraine with President of the Synod of the German Evangelic Lutheran Church of Ukraine Pastor Andrew Hamburg.   

During the meeting the issues of bilateral relations were discussed. In particular, pastor Andrew Hamburg is a deputy chairman of the group "Reconciliation in Europe - the Churches' task in Ukraine, Belarus, Poland and Germany". The aim of the group is seeking the ways of interaction of the Christian churches in solving topical social issues in Eastern and Central Europe.  Now the group in engaged in preparation of the international conference for the migration problems in modern Europe.  
Taking part in the work of Reconciliation group is the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Pastor Andrew told His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr of the group's initiatives and asked for his prayers for successful realization of these initiatives.   His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr thanked pastor Andrew Hamburg for his visit and wished God's help in carrying out of important social projects.  

Taking part in the meeting also were the official representative of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Reconciliation group associate professor of the Kyiv Theological Academy  Volodymyr Bureha and secretary for the Department for External Church Relations of the UOC archpriest Mykolai Danylevych.
