His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr performed thanksgiving prayer service at St Vladimir's Hill

On July 27, on the eve of commemoration of the Holy and Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr performed the prayer service at St. Vladimir's Hill.

Praying at the service were the hierarchs of the Ukrainian and Russian Orthodox Churches, numerous clergy of the Kyiv Diocese, Kyiv residents and guests of the city.

Among the high guests attending the prayer service were prime-Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov, chairman of the Supreme Council of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn, first deputy mayor of Kyiv Oleksandr Popov, etc.

At the end of the prayer service the Primate bowed unto the icon of the Holy and Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir with a piece of his relics, following which he thanked His Holiness for a prayer and wished him to fruitfully perform his ministry at the patriarchal throne.

In his turn His Holiness the Patriarch thanked His Beatitude Volodymyr for the prayerful support. Also in his word His Holiness Kirill emphasized the importance of Prince Vladimir's choice and its significance for the future generation and called those staying outside the church unity to return to church fold.

By the end, His Holiness Kirill and His Beatitude Volodymyr laid flowers to the monument of the Holy Prince Vladimir.
