KYIV. His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr Opened Exhibition “Heritage of the Holy Prince Vladimir”


 

On July 28, commemoration of the Holy and Equal-to the Apostles Prince Vladimir, after the Divine Liturgy in Soborna square of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, exhibition block No.1 of the National Kyiv-Pechersk Historical Culture Reserve the exhibition "Heritage of the Holy Prince Vladimir" was opened.

The arrangement is held on the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr, Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and is dedicated to the commemoration of the Holy and Equal to the Apostles Prince Vladimir, Day of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus and the 75th anniversary of His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr, on the occasion of the visit of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.

The exhibition was opened by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr. Following the solemn ceremony of cutting the red ribbon the Archpastors had a look over the exposition, which occupied three exhibition halls.  

Some 150 records of the  X-XX centuries from the collection of the Reserve, Museum "Orthodox Ukraine" of the Kyiv Metropolis and the personal collection of the Primate of the UOC, Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kyiv and All Ukraine. These the icons, frescoes, liturgical embroidery, metal fabrics, archaeological findings, revealing historical landmarks of commemoration of the Baptizer of Rus - the Holy and Equal to the Apostles Prince Vladimir.   

At the end Patriarch Kirill blessed the bells for historical cultural complex Zaporozhian Host, built in Hortytsia.
