KYIV. His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr addressed the organizers and audience of the concert dedicated to the Day of Baptism of the Kyivan Rus
On July 28 at "Spivoche pole" near the walls of the Kyiv-Pechersk
Lavra the concert was held, dedicated to the Day of Baptism of the Kyivan Rus.
His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr greeted all those present. In his word the
Archpastor focused attention at the personality of Prince Vladimir and his
historical choice of the orthodox faith.
"Prince Vladimir was an extraordinary man. He knew sin and iniquity before he got baptized and
baptized the Kyivites in our Jordan - Dnieper. But the Lord chooses such men to
show what miracles the faith can work. The Holy Prince Vladimir showed the way to God
and the faith manifests with his example to what one should strive at in order
to be called a living being in this life and in the life eternal", he said.
Also the Primate called those present to work on improvement of their
spirituality and to listen to the voice of the Church in order to find truth
and come to God in their lives.
In his turn the action organizers greeted His Beatitude on his heavenly patron's
day and offered him a basket of live flowers.
When the Primate blessed all those attending, the concert began, taking part in
which was the choir of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary guided by hegumen
Roman Pidlubnyak, as well as Ukrainian and Russian groups.
According to the organizers, the purpose of the concert is to remind the
