His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr calls the faithful to prayer and asks for God’s help to law-enforcement agencies in detection of the crime in Zaporizhya
YourEminences! Reverend Fathers, monastics, brothers and sisters, all faithful of the diocese
of Zaporizhia and residents of Zaporizhia!
Accept our sincere condolences and prayerful support from all the plenitude of
the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The Church prays for the repose of the soul of
the newly-reposed nun Lyudmila, whom the Lord received to the abodes, where
there is no sorrow, no sadness, no sufferings and diseases, but the life eternal
and eternal joy. The Church prays for recovery of all those who suffered from
explosion. The Church prays for the representatives of the law-enforcement agencies
and asks that God gave them reason and force to disclose this crime as soon as possible
and to make its repetition impossible.
The Church prays for those who became a servant of evil and lifted hands
against people who are the image of God, and against the church, which is a
house of God. The Church asks that the Lord
instructed them and turned them to penance and refusal of serving to evil. "Don't
be deceived "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows,
this he will also reap." (Galathians 6, 7). And it is better for man to incur punishment for crime now than to be condemned
for eternal torture.
† Volodymyr,
Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine,
Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church
