Dean for Monasteries of the Kyiv Diocese Performed Monastic Tonsure
On the blessing of His Beatitude
Metropolitan Volodymyr, Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Dean for Monasteries
of the Diocese of Kyiv archimandrite Theodosius Snihiryov performed monastic tonsure in Holy Dormition
Convent, Raykovshchyna village of Kyiv region.
Two novices were tonsured to the lesser schema with giving new monastic names -
Nina (in honor of the Holy and Equal-to-the Apostles Nina, the Enlightener of
Georgia) and Taisia (in honor of the Venerable Thaisia of Egypt, of Thebes).
Upon completion of the tonsure Father Dean delivered
a sermon about monastic cross-bearing, about sorrows and spiritual joys of the
monastic feat, wished the newly-tonsured to keep inviolately the vows they took
that day and to reach eternal salvation.
