KYIV. His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr celebrated the Divine Liturgy the Holy Ascension St Florus Convent in Kyiv
On August 31, commemoration of the Holy Martyrs Laurus and
Florus, the Primate of the UOC His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr called to
the Holy Ascension St Florus Convent, where he celebrated the Divine Liturgy in
the main church of the convent.
Concelebrating to His Beatitude were Secretary for the Primate of the UOC, His
Grace Alexander. Bishop of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyy, His Grace Panteleimon,
Bishop of Vasylkiv, brethren clergy and the clergy of Kyiv.
At
the lesser entrance His Beatitude conferred the Order of the Holy Great
Martyress Barbara of the 1sr degree on hegumeness Anthonia (Filkina). On that day
mother hegumeness marked the 25th anniversary of her appointment as deputy
abbess of the Convent of St Florus. Also for the services to the Church and on
the occasion of the 15h anniversary of her ordination the Archpastor
conferred the order of the Holy Hierarch Dimitry of Rostov on a monastery
clergyman, archpriest Yevheny Zaporozhets.
During the service at the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr the
coworker of the Department for External Church Relations of the UOC Rostyslav
Vorobiy was ordained deacon.
After
the Liturgy the Primate celebrated the thanksgiving prayer service and raised
his archpastoral prayers to the Holy Martyrs Florus and Laurus, following which
he greeted the parishioners on the dedication day and wished prayers and
assistance of the holy God-pleasers in the cause of salvation. Also His Beatitude
greeted Mother Anthonia, the abbess of the Convent on her anniversary, and
wished many years of life, strength and wisdom in administering the entrusted
convent.
