On Sunday, December 23, Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church headed the Divine Liturgy in the Refectory Church of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The following hierarchs concelebrated with him: Metropolitan of Luhansk and Alchevsk Ioannikiy, Archbishop of Vinnytsya and Mohyliv-Podilskyi Symeon, Archbishop of Vyshgorod Pavel, Archbishop of Bila Tserkva and Boguslav Mytrofan, Bishop of Severodonetsk and Starobilsk Agapit, Bishop of Oleksandriya and Svitlovodsk Panteleimon, Bishop of Khotyn Meletiy, Bishop of Boryspil Anthony, Bishop of Nizhyn and Baturin Iriney, Bishop of Ivano-Frankivsk and Kolomiya Panteleimon, Bishop of Kremenchuk and Khorol Evlogiy, Bishop of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi Alexander. At the Divine Liturgy the assembly consecrated archimandrite Feodor (Mamasuev) Bishop of Mukacheve and Uzhgorod.

It is to be recalled that the Holy Synod of the UOC at the last session on December 21, removed His Eminence Mark, Archbishop of Khust and Vinogradiv, temporary administrator of the Mukacheve Diocese, from administration of this diocese. Archimandrite Feodor, a clergyman of the Mukacheve Diocese was assigned to this post.

In course of the liturgy Vladyka Feodor performed his first ordination: the secretary of the External Church Relations of the UOC Valeriy Kravets was ordained to the holy priesthood.

After the liturgy His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr turned to Bishop Feodor with a word of severance and handed him the bishop crosier. The latter for the first time in the holy order called for the blessing on those present.

On the eve of consecartion in the Primate residence of His Beatitude in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra the rite of nomination of archimandrite Feodor (Mamasuev) as Bishop of Mukacheve was performed.

At the end of the ceremony father Feodor delivered his Word on nomination, in which, in particular, he asked the Primate and the Bishops for prayers for the due performance of his archpastoral duties.

"Standing in front of You, I ask You with augmented prayer: when the Lord honours me through the laying of Your hands to receive the fullness of the hierarch's grace, raise your prayers to the Great Lord and Father not to leave me without his mercy, so that performing my highest and at the same time painstaking service I was worthy of this greatest grace and kept it complete and intact up to the end of my days.' - said the newly appointed bishop.

Then His Beatitude aspersed the nominant with holy water and called upon him his archipastoral blessing.

Bishop Feodor was born in 1966 in the city of Sambir, Lviv region. In 1989 he was tonsured a monk with the name Feodor after Hieromartyr Theodore, archbishop of Alexandria. In 1990 with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Alexy he was assigned to the St.Michael Convent of Mukacheve.
