Facsimile
reprint of the Peresopnytsia Gospels will be published outside of Ukraine, in
particular, in Great Britain. The
presentation is to take place on May 12, in the British Library, and will be headed
by Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All
Ukraine Volodymyr. Among the participants there will be research workers of the
British Library and the head of the Anglican Church Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan
Williams, according to Hegumen Cyril (Hovorun), official of the Department for
External Church relations of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
On May 12, the Peresopnytsia Gospels will also be presented at the Bodleian's
Library of the Oxford University, on the premises of the old theological
department, where the Oxford University started from.
The UOC Primate's program of the visit to Great Britain includes presentation
of the Peresopnytsia Gospels at the Cambridge University and at the Institute
of Eastern Christian Studies on May 13.
Reprint of this unique record of the Ukrainian culture is carried out by the
joint effort of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the National Academy of Sciences
of Ukraine, the National Library of Vernadsky and the Publishing House
"ADEF-Ukraine".
