Lives in Odesa since 1981.
Upon graduation from secondary school No.24 of Odesa he entered local Professional Technical School No.25. He completed his secondary technical education in 1986. In 1986-1988 he served in the ranks of the Soviet Army. Upon completion of the military service he entered the Odesa Theological Seminary. On October 15, 1990 he enlisted the brethren of the Monastery of Holy Dormition of Odesa. On December 10, 1990 he was ordained deacon. On December 24, 1990 he was tonsured a monk. Upon graduation from the Odesa Theological Seminary in 1993 he entered the correspondence department of the Kyiv Theological Academy.
On August 29, 1993 he was ordained hieromonk.
On October 31, 1995 he was appointed Dean of the Monastery of St. Panteleimon in Odesa, and elevated to the rank of hegumen.
On April 23, 1998 he was awarded decorated cross. On January 7, 2000 - elevated to the rank of archimandrite. In 2001 he completed his studies in the Kyiv Theological Academy. On March 9, 2004 the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church assigned him Superior of St. Elias' Monastery in Odesa.
On May 17, 2004 he defended his candidate's thesis. By the decision of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of May 8, 2008 (Journal № 43) he was appointed bishop of Uman and Zvenigorod. The ceremony of bishop ordination took place on May 18, 2008. |
