Primate of Albanian Orthodox Church Arrived to Ukraine


 

His Beatitude Anastasios, Archbishop of Tirana andAll Albania, Metropolitan of Tirana, Durres and Elbasan was met by His Beatitude Volodymyr, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine, Rector of the Kyiv Theological Schools Bishop Anthony of Boryspil, Bishop Alexander of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi, Bishop Philip of Poltava and Myrhorod and Chairman of Department for External Church Relations archimandrite Cyril (Hovorun). The Primate of the Orthodox Сhurch of Albania will take part in the solemnities on the occasion of 1020th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus.

During the meeting Archbishop stated: "The 1020 years long history of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine is very important for us. It is a great mystery of the Orthodox Church that we all make one family. Your worries and concerns are our worries and concerns, and your joy is also the joy of all the Orthodox Church."

Archbishop of Albania told that he had been watching for along time the history of the Ukrainian Orthodox church and was aware of all the existing difficulties. The Orthodox Church of Albania also has had problems throughout 23 years but now it goes through the stage of revival. "We hope that by the grace of God the problems of Ukrainian Orthodoxy will be done away with. No doubt, it will be done in accordance with the canons. I am sure that the Ukrainian people will achieve the time of grace very quickly", noted His Beatitude Anastasios.
