KYIV. On Thomas Sunday His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr Celebrated Divine Liturgy at Holy Protection Convent of Kyiv

By tradition, on the first days after the Great Feast of the Holy Resurrection of Christ the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr visits the churches and monasteries of the capital.

On April 26, the Thomas Sunday, His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr called to the Convent of Holy Protection in Kyiv where he celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of St. Nicholas the Holy Hierarch and Wonderworker, in concelebration of the monastery clergy.

At the Divine service His Beatitude Volodymyr addressed those present with a sermon, in which he told of the Christ's Resurrection and the significance of this event for the believers.

"May the present mercy of Lord  - the feeling of joy of the feast of Christ's Resurrection resurrect us from any sin and vile, from any sinful dream and send all of us consolation and mercy of the Holy Spirit, renewing and strengthening us.  May the whole humanity be enlightened by the Resurrection of Christ. That is what we pray for, bowing with our hearts and rejoicing on these holy days", - said the Archpastor.

Also in the course of the Divine Liturgy His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr bestowed on deacon Vasyl Savka the right of wearing kamelaukion.
