KYIV. Preparation Commission of the Holy Synod of the UOC published basic statements of the Program of Visit of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to Ukraine
OnJune 12 at the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra the working session of the Commission of the Holy Synod of the UOC on preparation of the visit of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill to Ukraine. The members of the commission
have considered the general program of the visit of the Primate of the Russian
Orthodox Church to Ukraine
and discussed technical and organizational issues. The Commission passed a
decision to publish the basic statements of the program of visit of His
Holiness Patriarch Kirill to Ukraine.
The visit of the
Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church to Ukraine will take place between July 27 - August 5. On the day of the church commemoration of the
Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir
and the state holiday of the Baptism of the Kyivan Rus His Holiness Patriarch
Kirill will visit Kyiv. On the eve before July 27 he is to perform a prayer service at
St. Vladimir's Hill, and on the holiday of July 28 - he will celebrate the Divine
Liturgy at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra in the square in front of the Cathedral of
the Holy Dormition. On July 30, the
commemoration day of the Svyatogorsk Icon of the Mother of God, His Holiness
the Patriarch will perform worship at the Holy Dormition Lavra of Savytogorsk
(Donbass).
On August 2,
commemoration of the Prophet of God Elias, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox
Church will perform liturgical service in the place of Baptism of the Holy
Prince Vladimir (Crimea, Sebastopol).
On August 5,
commemoration of the Icon of the Mother of Pochayiv and the celebration of the
450th anniversary of bringing the shrine to Ukraine, His
Holiness the Patriarch of Moscow and All
Russia Kirill will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Dormition Lavra of
Pochayiv.
The detailed
program of visit will be presented by the
Ukrainian Orthodox Church at the press-conference at UNIAN on June 26 at 10:30 a.m.
