KYIV. UOC Primate met with President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko

On June 26 His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr had a meeting at his Primate's residence at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra with President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko, taking part in which were also the Administrator of the UOC, Archbishop Metrophanes of Bila Tserkva and Bohuslav and Secretary for the Primate of the UOC Bishop Alexander of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi.

Among the other, the chief theme of the discussion became the future visit of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill to Ukraine. In this connection a number of issues were discussed concerning the cooperation of the Church and the state in its preparation and execution.
