KYIV. Kyiv Metropolis Vicar Bishop Panteleimon of Vasylkiv Conducted Pannikhida for Road Traffic Accidents Victims
On
November 15 at 12.00 at the Refectory (Sts Anthony and Theodosius) Church of the
Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra at the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr of
Kyiv and All Ukraine the pannikhida for those who died in the road traffic
accidents was conducted. The memorial
service was led by Vicar of the Kyiv Metropolis Bishop Panteleimon of Vasylkiv,
who addressed with a word of consolation all those who came to commemorate
their deceased relatives, friends and dear ones.
Vladyka called to pray as often as possible for the
reposed, which had passed to the Lord untimely
because of the tragic death on the roads, since they utterly need our prayers. Also Vladyka stressed the
necessity of being cautious at the wheel, since not only the driver's life and
the passengers' lives depend on it, but the lives of the participants of the moving traffic too.
After the pannikhida all those present were proposed to take necessary amount of the icons of the Savior-not-Made-by-Hands with a driver's prayer on the back, for themselves and their friends. Upon completion the choir
consisting of the students and postgraduate students of the Kyiv Chaikovsky
National Music
Academy performed the memorial concert chant "Blessed are those You have chosen
and taken to be with you, Lord".
